Let’s Play…Would You Rather?!

The LA Times just released this article earlier this week which showcases the Dear Leader’s luxurious train, which not only luxurious, as we learn, but safe and green too. (By “green” we mean the color, not the movement.)

The Times reports: “On train trips within North Korea, Kim Jung Il often travels by night to avoid U.S. and South Korean surveillance. The train moves slowly to make sure the tracks are safe.”

We don’t believe that Kim’s train ride experience would be anything like riding on one of these luxurious choo-choos.

So, here’s where the game comes into play…

Would you rather ride this or that?

Rankin: From Cheeky to South Africa

We all know and love photographer Rankin. Whether we love him for this or that may just be one or two reasons. Well, you’re about to be introduced to reason # 3.

Like Micheal Poliza, Rankin has recently traveled to South Africa to do what he does best.

And look what he brought us back:

It’s certainly impressive when an artist can immerse himself across different realms of photography. Can you believe the same man who captured the images above is capable of this:

But if  you prefer wonderful wildlife and landscape photography, check out Michael Poliza’s South Africa.

The Trump Soho: Luxury in NYC!

“It is gospel in the hospitality industry that the small stuff matters. The curve of the door knob, the heft of a closet hanger and a coffee mug that’s just the right size can go a long way in convincing a hotel guest to become a regular customer.”

The National Post outlines a few plushy hotels of NYC and gives us a new definition of luxury in this article.

Of the hotels mentioned, one struck us as particularly appealing– the new Trump Soho of NYC:

With its beds adorned with Bellino Italian linens and Italian marble 5-fixture baths, the Trump is said to be quite a precious place…

And if you’re into luxury nightlife, check out the “masculine, warm and ultra sexy” bar/lounge– Kastel — a new addition to the Trump:

Since we’re so keen on luxury, we also wanted to share with you one of our favorite books:

The World Cup 2010: Watch Futbol, Take a Safari Tour!

So, you’re going to the World Cup in South Africa in a couple of weeks? Well, lucky you!

Aside from the international crowd, the cheering, the fights, and most importantly the matches, what will else can you feast your eyes on?

How’s ’bout a South African Safari tour?

“During a few hours’ drive from World Cup host city Cape Town through to Simon’s Town and down to the Cape of Good Hope, you can see penguins — yes, penguins — and possibly some baboons and ostrich.”

Although you may want to be careful around the baboons, who have been known to steal from tourists…

We imagine, with so much wondrous wildlife and warm weather, that these tours must be breath-taking:

Photographer Michael Poliza, who just recently launched his vibrant South African photography book chock-full of stunning images of the country’s natural scenery and wildlife, portrays this notion perfectly.

Johnny Depp: A Pirate With a Yacht that You Can Rent. Savvy?

With a foul/watery name, VAJOLIROJA is Johnny Depp’s yacht.

Apparently the name stems from a mixture of  the names of his two children, his long-time partner and himself.

However, from the looks of the interior, VAJOLIROJA is neither foul nor watery:

Of course the yacht is pirate-themed. Why not? And for roughly 100,000 USD you can rent it. Why not?

…And if you’re a yacht fanatic…or if your yacht is simply settling fitfully somewhere, check out this phenomenal book.
